Task Force Member Background Materials
The intergovernmental South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force (Task Force) was established by Congress in the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 1996. The Task Force brings together all the agencies involved in restoring and protecting America’s Everglades. Here you will find background information regarding the Task Force, its subgroups, and the current status of the restoration effort. Task Force Organizational Materials
The Task Force is supported by a Florida-based Working Group that includes senior managers of restoration agencies and Tribes, as well as a Science Coordination Group (SCG) that enhances the integration of science and management. Additional sub-groups, including regional or issue-based teams, and advisory bodies may be established by the Task Force as needed.

Status Reports on Everglades Restoration
Task Force Biennial Report (2022)
Congressionally required (WRDA 1996), this report synthesizes the efforts by Task Force members and reports biennially on progress made toward restoration. Includes a summary of the System-wide Ecological Indicators report.
Task Force Cross Cut Budget (FY2025)
Provides coordinated budget requests for the Everglades ecosystem restoration efforts in south Florida with information provided by both federal and state agencies represented on the Task Force.
Integrated Delivery Schedule (IDS) (2024)
Provides an overall strategy for project planning, design, and construction based upon ecosystem needs, benefits, costs, and available funding for projects within the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Program, including the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP).
Joint Report to Congress (2020)
Progress report submitted by the secretaries of the Army and the Interior every five years to Congress on the progress of CERP implementation.
National Academies of Sciences Report (2024)
The Committee on Independent Scientific Review of Everglades Restoration Progress (CISRERP) provides biennial reports on the CERP’s progress, accomplishments, and challenges with a particular focus on the role of restoration science.
